In 1988 Mr Warren Halloran gifted the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum his internationally significant collection of maritime and scientific instruments. Now known as the Halloran Collection, it was collected over many years and consists of 2,182 objects including paintings, navigational and scientific instruments. Notable items include historic naval memorabilia pertaining to the Battle of Cape St Vincent in 1797, the bell from the Sabraon (later renamed HMAS Tingira), the first training ship of the Royal Australian Navy.
In 2020 Warren Halloran bequested the complete business archive of Henry F. Halloran & Co. to the Museum. Spanning sixty years of urban and economic development in New South Wales (from 1898 until 1953) the collection consists of original land development lithographs, photographs, objects, survey plans and business documents.
These collections represent the most significant gifts that the Museum has received through the Deductible Gift Recipients program.
