The Museum has had the unique opportunity to purchase a 20 foot fishing boat named ‘Wampoo’ (pictured above) for our collection. Built by Mr Vic Hoyle at Myola in 1954 for three local friends, ‘Wampoo’ not only tells a wonderful story about community and friendship but is also a tangible link to the history of Jervis Bay and its community.
Your donation will play an important role in showcasing Huskisson’s rich social history and ensure that ‘Wampoo’ will be loved and cared for for generations to come.
The Jervis Bay Maritime Museum is registered for the Commonwealth Government Cultural Gifts Program which offers tax incentives to donors.
Donations to the Museum within this program, and that meet our Collection Acquisition Policy framework, can be tax deductible.

Recent donations to the museum collection include the Halloran Business Archive, which has been deemed unique by leading historian Dr. Terry Kass, a precious scrapbook belonging to local artist Billy Bedwell, and an impressive model of the steamship Merimbula.
