The Jervis Maritime Museum features a fascinating collection of maritime artefacts, as well as the Lady Denman – a full-size historic ferry! Work your way through the museum with our children’s treasure hunt, explore the mangrove boardwalk (watch out for local sealife!), and feed the fish in the pond. Fun for kids of all ages, rain, hail, or shine!

Ask our volunteers for your free children’s treasure hunt booklet when you arrive. This activity will help little ones explore the museum and learn as they go. Answer all the questions to receive a delicious prize!

Explore | Currambene Creek | An Outdoor Adventure
Get adventurous without getting your feet wet! Our 1.4km Mangrove Boardwalk has just received a full refurbishment, which means it’s even easier to get up close to the mangroves, birds, and sea creatures living in this beautiful patch of marine sanctuary. Watch out for crabs, pelicans, and fish – you might even see a stingray!

2026 Science Week (August 15th-23rd) experience LUMINESCENCE at the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum and Gallery.
Luminescence – Discovery of a Glowing World is an interactive theatrical experience inspired by the wonder and science of all that glows in the natural world. An exploration and discovery for young children of nature and bioluminescence – the amazing natural glowing phenomenon.
Nic-Nac Theatre Company invites participants to explore and recreate these glowing worlds that inspire wonder and awe. Adults and children learn and play side by side creating the setting for a luminescent world. Each session is unique to the audience that builds and directs the interactive experience.
With three performance dates:
Saturday 15th August – 11am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm
Sunday 16th August– 11am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm
Monday 17th – 10am, 12pm
