Laddie Timbery

Laddie Timbery, a Bidjigal elder, operated Laddie Timbery’s Aboriginal Arts and Crafts in the Museum grounds from 1988 until he passed away in 2019. Uncle Laddie engaged everyone – locals, visitors, and school students – with his wonderful sense of humour and local knowledge.

In December 2019, the Aboriginal Culture, Heritage & Arts Association (ACHAA) presented a posthumous award for excellence to Hubert ‘Laddie’ Timbery (1941-2019) for outstanding contribution to Aboriginal arts, culture, and heritage in New South Wales.
