MUNGGURA-NGGUL: Our Place, Our Home

MUNGGURA-NGGUL means home-belong in the local Dhurga language. It can be loosely translated as “our place”.

This permanent exhibition tells the story of Jervis Bay. From Aboriginal and European settlement to Huskisson’s shipbuilding history, shipwrecks along the treacherous coast and the ill-fated Cape St George Lighthouse, you’re sure to learn something new about this iconic bay.

This exhibition redevelopment has been made possible by a grant from the NSW Government and the CREATE NSW Regional Cultural Fund.
