SHIPWRECKS | SCHOOL PROGRAM

SHIPWRECKS

This guided tour invites students to dive into the fascinating world of shipwrecks and maritime archaeology. Together, we’ll explore why ships wreck and how these underwater sites become “time capsules” that preserve history, and why.

Through the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum’s collection of shipwreck artefacts, models and stories, students will discover how maritime technology and safety have evolved to prevent shipwrecks today. The program encourages critical thinking about conservation*, historical evidence and our connection to the oceans’ past.

Students will have a chance to share their favourite shipwreck stories and reflect on what these discoveries tell us about exploration, trade and life.
